Job Summary
Ladders is seeking a Lead Scientist, R&D for a client in the Manufacturing & Automotive sector. This role involves driving the development of new corrugated packaging solutions, conducting comprehensive testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver customer outcomes. This position offers significant visibility, growth, and impact within a global packaging leader.
Responsibilities
- Drive development and optimization of new corrugated packaging solutions.
- Conduct lab-scale and pilot testing of coatings and packaging structures.
- Evaluate performance characteristics under various conditions.
- Collaborate with design, operations, and commercialization teams.
- Create technical documentation and design of experiments (DoE).
- Analyze test results and identify trends for development guidance.
- Monitor emerging technologies and materials for R&D options.
- Facilitate customer trials and engage during product scale-up.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Packaging Science, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in packaging R&D, with emphasis on coatings and corrugated material.
- Hands-on lab testing and physical property evaluation experience.
- Knowledgeable in paper chemistry and barrier technologies.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a passion for hands-on work.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with project management abilities in a fast-paced setting.
