Job Description

Government Relations Lead

For our client, a leader in the Enterprise Technology space, we are seeking a Government Relations Lead to join their team. This role will drive meaningful impact across key initiatives and partner cross-functionally to deliver measurable outcomes. You will work closely with stakeholders to execute against strategic priorities and scale performance. The position offers the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution in a high-growth environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead company's federal appropriations strategy across various accounts.
  • Monitor and report on defense budget cycles and funding opportunities.
  • Serve as the internal expert on DoD acquisition processes.
  • Build and maintain senior-level relationships in Congress and the Pentagon.
  • Represent the company in high-stakes engagements with military and congressional leaders.
  • Manage external lobbyists and government relations firms with clear objectives.
  • Develop and execute engagement strategies for defense associations and public forums.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, political science, national security studies or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in government affairs, defense policy or legislative affairs.
  • Deep expertise in U.S. defense procurement, acquisition, and appropriations.
  • Proven track record of senior-level engagement within Congress and the Pentagon.
  • Demonstrated experience managing contract lobbyists and government relations firms.
  • Exceptional communication skills for translating complex issues into advocacy positions.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret and provide recommendations on legislative developments.
