Director, Government Relations and Legislative Affairs
For our client, a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space, we are seeking a Director, Government Relations and Legislative Affairs. In this pivotal remote role, you will be instrumental in delivering outcomes for customers and stakeholders within this critical sector. You will collaborate cross-functionally, taking full ownership of strategic priorities, and benefit from high visibility, significant growth opportunities, and direct impact on the organization's objectives.
Responsibilities
- Build and implement strategic plans within your assigned business area.
- Ensure project completion adheres to budget and schedule, consistently focusing on value creation.
- Direct and lead the government relations and legislative affairs team effectively.
- Engage with senior management to influence and shape strategic organizational plans and objectives.
- Translate overarching corporate strategies into actionable, functional plans for your team.
- Regularly interact with both internal and external senior executives.
- Lead and guide activities through managers, ensuring operational efficiency across initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship is a mandatory requirement.
- Demonstrable experience in government relations, legislative affairs, advocacy, or campaign organizing.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for this role.
- Proven capacity to develop robust relationships and strategic partnerships effectively.
- Possess a strategic mindset for leading and navigating complex initiatives, particularly with executives.
- Solid knowledge of industry regulations and best practices within the Aerospace & Defense sector.
