Director, AI Governance at Ladders

Our client, a leader in the Technical Services space, is seeking a Director, AI Governance to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in delivering critical outcomes for customers and stakeholders within the Technical Services sector. This position demands a collaborative spirit, cross-functional engagement, and a strong sense of ownership over key priorities, offering significant visibility, growth potential, and impact on responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain AI governance policies, procedures, and standards that seamlessly complement existing data governance frameworks.
  • Establish robust oversight mechanisms for AI systems, incorporating crucial controls for fairness, transparency, and accountability.
  • Develop comprehensive charters and effective governance models for cross-functional AI governance teams.
  • Implement stringent controls to proactively address emerging risks such as prompt injection attacks, algorithmic bias, and explainability challenges.
  • Ensure unwavering compliance with global regulations, including GDPR and the EU AI Act, alongside adherence to internal security protocols.
  • Define rigorous standards for AI model testing, auditing, and output contesting to ensure reliability and integrity.
  • Oversee the continuous monitoring of AI systems to ensure optimal performance, ethical compliance, and security vulnerability mitigation.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in data governance, AI governance, or closely related fields, with a proven track record in enterprise-scale governance frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of AI/ML technologies, comprehensive data privacy regulations, and robust risk management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and influence senior stakeholders with compelling insights.
  • Certifications in AI ethics, data governance, or prominent cloud AI platforms (such as AWS, Azure) are preferred and highly valued.
