About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Staff Data Scientist - Consumer Experimentation to join the team of a leader in the Media space. This role will turn data into practical insight that improves visibility, decision-making, and business performance. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a Media environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the authority on experimentation methodology across the Consumer team
  • Tackle complex experimentation problems, including spillover effects and network interference
  • Develop causal inference methods where standard assumptions are violated
  • Design frameworks that account for ecosystem-level effects in experimentation
  • Identify opportunities for improved methodologies to unlock insights
  • Build and scale self-serve experimentation tools to enhance efficiency
  • Influence product strategy through rigorous experimental analysis and recommendations

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field with focus on causal inference; or M.S. with equivalent expertise
  • 12+ years of industry experience for M.S. holders in applied science or experimentation
  • 8+ years of industry experience for Ph.D. holders in applied science or experimentation
  • Deep expertise in causal inference and complex experimentation challenges
  • Strong theoretical background in experimental design
  • Experience with large-scale experimentation platforms
  • Proficiency in SQL and either R or Python for statistical analysis
