Staff Backend Engineer, Host Serving and Access

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Backend Engineer Host Serving And Access to join the team of a leader in the Business Services space. This role will lead technical initiatives focused on scalable systems, platform reliability, and meaningful business transformation. You will work across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and the technology capabilities that enable long-term growth within a Business Services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $212,000 – $265,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Architect and drive the strategy for the serving ecosystem, ensuring long-term adaptability
• Develop and optimize real-time serving systems for low-latency, high-throughput API delivery
• Collaborate with product engineers to integrate new pricing functionalities and model insights
• Contribute to long-term workflow strategies and ML serving development within Host Pricing
• Mentor senior engineers and establish architectural standards to elevate technical maturity
  
  

Qualifications

• 9+ years of engineering experience in computer science or a related field (BS/MS/PhD)
• Proven leadership in setting technical strategy and launching impactful models
• Strong background in backend systems and large-scale service-oriented architectures
• Effective with cross-functional collaboration and influencing engineering teams
• Judicious decision-making balancing business needs and technical quality
• Excellent communication skills for cross-team collaboration
• Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities
