Overview
LabCorp is seeking a dedicated individual to join their Specimen Processing and Accessioning team as a Lab Associate Data Entry. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy of millions of healthcare tests every month by performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Unpack and route specimens to staging areas
- Accurately identify, label, and sort specimens
- Pack and ship specimens to testing facilities
- Meet departmental activity and production goals
- Prepare and store excess specimen samples appropriately
- Enter patient information accurately and timely
- Resolve and document any problem specimens
Requirements
Candidates should have a High School Diploma or equivalent. While no relative experience is required, 1-2+ years in lab/accessioning or production environments is a plus. Previous medical or production experience is advantageous. The candidate must be comfortable handling biological specimens, possess strong data entry and organizational skills, have a high level of attention to detail, be proficient in MS Office, and be able to lift up to 40lbs. Passing a standardized color blind test is required.
Work Schedule & Benefits
This position operates Monday-Friday, 7pm-3:30am. Benefits vary by scheduled hours, with comprehensive benefits available for employees working 20 or more hours per week, including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), PTO/FTO, Tuition Reimbursement, and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Part-time employees with less than 20 hours receive 401(k) benefits.
