The Role

As a System Administrator at Kyndryl, you’ll solve complex problems, identify potential future issues across platforms and services, and work with some of the biggest clients in the world. Every day is different as you manage systems data, resolve security compliance issues, and prioritize tickets to deliver optimal solutions.

You will work with clients from various industries including banking and retail, allowing you to broaden your knowledge base or specialize in a specific sector. You are encouraged to share your expertise by recommending modernization options, identifying new business opportunities, and building relationships with teams and stakeholders.

You have a proven technical background with a growth mindset, are customer-focused and naturally inclusive in your teamwork.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

  • 10+ years of experience with IBM z/OS systems and subsystems (JES2/JES3, RACF, DFSMS, DFHSM, SMP/E).
  • Expertise in mainframe storage management, networking, system security, capacity planning, RCA and performance optimization.
  • Proficiency in automation tools such as REXX, CLIST, JCL scripting, System Automation, and OPS/MVS.
  • Experience with z/OS upgrades, migration, modernization, and modern mainframe management interfaces like z/OSMF and Zowe.
  • Familiarity with disaster recovery, high availability, and business continuity planning, along with strong documentation and change management skills.

Preferred Technical And Professional Experience

  • Experience with IBM Parallel Sysplex, GDPS, Tivoli products and hybrid solutions.
  • Exposure to cloud integration and Mainframe-as-a-Service (MFaaS) concepts.
  • Knowledge of DevOps on z/OS, CI/CD pipelines and modernization frameworks.
  • Proven track record in project leadership, client engagement, and technical consulting.
  • Industry certifications such as IBM Certified System Programmer, ITIL or PMP/PRINCE2 are a plus.
