Job Overview
Join a team of engineers building one of the most advanced data-driven decision systems in the banking industry. You will help deliver real-time customer experiences and backend services that determine the creditworthiness of applicants and drive decisioning for new credit card products.
As a Product Owner, you will lead delivery for services that support credit decision microservices, including logic that determines which card products can be assigned to new applicants. These are always-on, highly resilient systems with 99.99% uptime requirements. You will manage two technical teams full-time and ensure clear communication, strong execution, and proactive risk management across engineering and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Own and execute the product strategy and roadmap for credit decisioning services and supporting microservices.
- Manage and lead two engineering teams full-time in Agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog health, and delivery commitments.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear outcomes, tradeoffs, and plans for both engineering and business audiences.
- Partner with intent owners and stakeholders to take problem statements and convert them into solution approaches, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Drive alignment across engineering, architecture, and business partners to ensure solutions meet resiliency, stability, and compliance expectations.
- Provide proactive communication on progress, dependencies, and delivery risks, including timely escalation when issues threaten commitments or uptime.
- Ensure high-quality, on-time delivery using Agile methodologies and continuous improvement practices.
Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership or Agile product management, with demonstrated success leading Scrum teams.
- Technical background preferred, with familiarity in AWS, Python, and Java.
- Experience working with cloud-based platforms, especially AWS, and building/operating services in production environments.
- Strong ability to communicate technical details and architecture decisions clearly to senior business stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage evolving scope, ambiguity, and cross-team dependencies while maintaining delivery predictability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in financial services, banking, or fintech environments is preferred.
