We are at the forefront of developing exceptional alternative products.About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on New Product Developer / Food Scientist to lead the food development of our innovative protein bases and meat alternatives derived from mycelium fermentation. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the planet and experience a startup in its early stages. We are looking for individuals with proven experience in building food products. Please note, this role does not focus on quality control, safety control, or nutrition-related aspects.Key Responsibilities
- Lead the product development of whole-cut fungi-based meat alternative products, from conception through commercialization in Berlin.
- Research and develop new food technologies, focusing on texture interactions and flavor development to establish product building blocks.
- Support the creation of new ideas, processes, and procedures as the company scales.
- Design feedback mechanisms, evaluate, and continuously improve products based on real-world data.
- Collaborate closely with B2B customers to refine and develop products.
- Work in close interaction with Mycologists and Microbiologists to adapt technology for optimal product outcomes.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, effective time management, and flexibility to support cross-functional projects and company goals.
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in food product development, with a strong preference for experience in alternative protein solutions.
- Hands-on experience in formulation and application development using laboratory equipment.
- Strategic and analytical thinker capable of improving internal competencies and technologies to achieve company objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
