Job Description
Role Description: Senior Power Automation Commissioning Engineer
Krubera Group is supporting a major critical power program and is seeking experienced field commissioning engineers with strong exposure to protection, automation, and communications testing. This pivotal contract role focuses on commissioning and troubleshooting MV/LV switchgear, paralleling systems, and power automation platforms within mission-critical environments. This is a travel-intensive position, requiring approximately 70% field-based work.
What you’ll be doing:
- Commissioning and validating protective relays and control schemes.
- Supporting automation network and communications testing (Modbus, DNP, etc.).
- Performing SCADA / EPMS point-to-point verification.
- Troubleshooting PLC/HMI-controlled power systems.
- Supporting energisation and system startup activities.
- Working closely with field service and site commissioning teams.
We’re looking for engineers with:
- Solid field commissioning experience in power distribution environments.
- Hands-on relay testing and control system validation.
- Exposure to SCADA integration and communications protocols.
- Experience with MV switchgear and generator/paralleling systems.
- Comfort working in live, high-reliability environments.
- Backgrounds from utility substations, power generation, industrial automation, or hyperscale data centers are all relevant.
