About the Role: Intern, Investigations Diligence & Compliance at Kroll

As an Intern, Investigations Diligence & Compliance, you’ll work on real client matters alongside experienced investigators and consultants, building skills you can take straight back to campus and into your career. Through a combination of expertise, global research capabilities and flexible technology tools, the Investigations, Diligence and Compliance practice of Kroll helps clients take a risk-based approach toward meeting obligations or remediating failures regarding anti-bribery, anti-corruption and related regulatory mandates. These include pre-transactional intelligence; vendor, supplier and distributor due diligence; vendor screening and monitoring; country/industry risk; and bespoke inquiries. You’ll see how risk signals are identified, validated, and translated into clear, decision‑ready insights for clients.

Interns support the overall research and due diligence process at the company. Interns will be exposed to due diligence practices used globally to mitigate the impact of fraud and corruption. Kroll places a high value on its talent and seeks candidates with a high level of conscientiousness, integrity, and professional pride. You’ll contribute to deliverables that help clients make informed decisions about counterparties, investments, and third‑party risks.

The right candidate will have outstanding English reading and writing skills, meticulous attention to detail, a sense of curiosity, the ability and enthusiasm to learn quickly, and a dedication to client satisfaction. Reading ability in at least one foreign language is highly desired.

• Conduct increasingly complex English-language research using public record databases, commercial and proprietary databases, media sources and the Internet.
• Assist with analyzing and synthesizing relevant research findings by extracting key facts, identifying inconsistencies and connecting patterns across jurisdictions and languages.
• Write well-structured, concise, logical and objective reports to provide clients with an accurate assessment of the findings - translating research into clear, client‑ready narratives with proper sourcing and defensible judgment.

Requirements

For the internship, availability to work Full-Time with at least two days a week being spent working from a Kroll office is required. Candidates should be currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited university majoring in: International Relations/Affairs, Regional Studies, Political Science, Criminal Justice, or other related areas of study. Kroll also welcomes applicants from Economics, History, Area Studies, Data/Information Science, Journalism, or Law if you have strong research and writing skills.

• Native or equivalent English language proficiency in reading comprehension.
• Expected graduation date no earlier than December 2026.
• Extremely strong English-language writing skills.
• Ability to prioritize several projects and assignments on multiple topics while meeting tight deadlines.
• Ability to conduct online research using various primary and secondary sources and to document sources accurately.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Ability to understand, accept and apply constructive feedback.
• The ability to participate in in-office events at Kroll's Washington DC (or Toronto or Chicago) offices. Hybrid participation is a core part of the intern experience, including training and team sessions.

• Fluency in a foreign language (professional-level reading comprehension) is highly desired. Languages of interest vary by project; reading proficiency is especially valuable.
