Technical Project Manager

Kratos Defense and Security Solutions is seeking a motivated candidate to transition a large ground Space Mission Operations contract to its next phase of development and operations. This role involves coordinating with the previous contractor and the USG to plan and execute essential transition tasks.The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and executing the transition of a Mission Operations Center from a development contract into operational status. Key duties include proactively coordinating and tracking cross-team and cross-program dependencies, managing subcontractor performance, and solving technical and programmatic challenges. The role also requires applying Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles, assessing and mitigating risk throughout the project lifecycle, and coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless handoff of the technical baseline. Regular travel to Boulder, CO, and/or other locations is expected.

Experience And Skills

• Project Management experience on an EVMS-compliant program.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and execute a development program.
• In-depth knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD) contract execution, including control account, schedule, and risk management.
• Awareness of cybersecurity accreditation procedures.
• Demonstrated leadership of an engineering team on a ground station program.
• Familiarity with modern IT infrastructure capabilities including virtualization, cloud deployment, and containerization, and their hardware platforms.
• Working knowledge of space systems, including satellite ground systems.
• Experience with military space operations.
• Proven ability to prioritize to meet tight deadlines.
• Sense of ownership, urgency, and drive to accomplish results.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level briefings.
• BS in STEM degree with 8+ years of experience in engineering and/or project management.
• Current Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI.

Preferred Skills And Experience

• Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
• Test experience, working with the DoD customer to transition a development system to operations.
• Experience working within the Defense and/or Aerospace industry.
• Experience in ground systems, system engineering, or software.
• Experience developing customer documentation deliverables.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Sharp analytical abilities and capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Familiarity with aerospace design and verification processes to include requirements development, validation and verification for conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design.
• Ability to effectively manage a geographically dispersed team.

This position is contingent upon successful contract award.

Compensation and Benefits

The grade-based pay range for this job is $130,000-$185,000. Kratos offers competitive salaries based on experience and education.
