The Team & Role
The Policy & Government Relations team manages relationships with policymakers, government bodies, regulators, and institutions. As the Manager Policy & Government Relations Canada, you will shape the policy landscape in Canada, provide strategic advice on public policy developments, represent Kraken at events, and build trusted relationships across the Canadian ecosystem while keeping a global view.
The Opportunity
- Develop Kraken’s policy positions in Canada.
- Educate policymakers and regulators on digital assets.
- Draft comment letters, consultation responses, and policy papers.
- Build relationships with Canadian policymakers and industry influencers.
- Monitor and engage on legislative and regulatory initiatives.
- Represent Kraken at industry events and regulatory roundtables.
- Collaborate with regulatory, compliance, communications, and product teams.
- Support cross-border and regional initiatives within the Americas team.
Skills You Should HODL
- 7+ years experience in public policy, government affairs, or regulatory engagement.
- Experience with traditional finance and cryptocurrency sectors.
- Strong knowledge of Canada’s financial services and digital asset regulatory landscape.
- Proficient in drafting policy documents and articulating complex topics.
- A personal network within Canadian government and regulatory bodies is a plus.
- Ability to build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of time for events and conferences.
- Based in Canada with fluency in English (French is a plus).
