The Team
Kraken's Consumer Growth team operates as a vertical pod within a broader matrix growth model. The pod owns the consumer growth P&L — acquisition, activation, and LTV — and works within a cross-functional operating model where execution capabilities in paid, lifecycle, onboarding, SEO, and creative sit with horizontal function leads. The pod sets the strategy and priorities; the horizontals execute and scale. Speed and quality come from how well those two sides work together.
The Opportunity
You will operate as co-founder of the consumer product vertical alongside the Product lead — jointly accountable for the revenue performance of the consumer business. You will have growth leads reporting directly to you, and you will work within a cross-functional pod model where embedded execution resources — creative strategists, growth designers, data analysts — staff the pod. The broader execution infrastructure (paid acquisition, lifecycle and CRM, onboarding, SEO, affiliate) sits with horizontal function leaders who you direct on strategy and priorities for the consumer vertical.
Your authority is strategic and directional across the full growth stack. You set the agenda. You own the outcomes. You hold horizontal teams accountable to your interface's targets. Execution capacity is not yours to build — it already exists. What you bring is the context, conviction, and commercial instinct to deploy it better than anyone else could.
- Own the consumer growth P&L — NTU volume, payback period, 12-month LTV, and cohort quality — as personal accountability, not a reporting metric
- Partner with the Consumer Product lead as a co-owner of the vertical's revenue, with shared conviction that neither function succeeds without the other
- Lead and develop growth leads within your pod who own sub-verticals within the consumer portfolio
- Set strategy and priorities for horizontal functions serving your vertical — paid, lifecycle, onboarding, SEO, affiliate — and hold them to interface-specific performance targets
- Drive go-to-market for new products and features with clear activation hypotheses, measurable targets, and fast iteration
- Build an AI-native production model where you and your pod produce performance creative, lifecycle emails, and campaign assets directly — reducing brief-dependent handoff cycles and compressing time to market
- Maintain deep fluency in your user's economics: who converts, who pays back fast, who generates durable LTV, and what separates them from those who don't
- Set and defend interface-specific targets for payback, LTV, and activation — and be the first to flag when cohort quality is degrading
- Bring cross-functional influence without cross-functional ownership — you do not build the execution infrastructure, but you must be able to direct it with enough specificity that horizontals are unblocked and accountable
Skills You Should HODL
- 10+ years in growth, consumer product, or GM roles where you owned a revenue number — not just a marketing budget
- Demonstrated ability to operate as a business owner: you've set unit economics targets, tracked payback and LTV, and made resource allocation decisions based on cohort data
- Experience operating in a matrix or cross-functional model — you know how to set direction and drive accountability through teams you don't directly own
- Strong product instincts — you've worked shoulder-to-shoulder with product leads, not just alongside them
- AI-native working style: you use AI to produce creative, analyze data, and accelerate execution as a default, not an experiment
- Experimentation discipline: you design, run, and kill experiments fast, and you've built cultures where testing is continuous
- Data fluency at the operator level — you pull your own data, form your own hypotheses, and don't wait for analytics to surface insights
- Track record of developing growth talent and leading pods or sub-teams with clear outcome ownership
- Experience in consumer fintech, crypto, or other high-consideration categories where trust and education are part of the acquisition equation
- Clear, direct communicator who can operate with founder intensity in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and influence without authority
