About the Role
The Data Governance Engineer at Kraken will support the data platform team in making data discoverable, well-documented, auditable and reliable. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, platform operations, and governance enablement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support metadata and catalog initiatives including column-level tagging and dataset documentation.
- Enhance data lineage and governance practices to ensure audit readiness.
- Maintain and support Airflow DAGs and CI/CD workflows for data pipelines.
- Collaborate on automation of reports and dashboards for self-serve analytics.
- Assist internal stakeholders with ad-hoc data questions and process improvements.
Skills and Experience
Candidates should have 2+ years of experience in a similar role with strong knowledge in metadata management, data lineage, and data catalogs. Proficiency in Python and SQL and familiarity with tools like Airflow and DataHub is required. Experience with dashboards or BI tools is a plus.
