The Role - Data Governance Engineer
As a Data Governance Engineer on Kraken's Data Platform team, you will work at the intersection of data engineering, platform operations, and governance enablement. Your work ensures that data is discoverable, well-documented, auditable, and reliable.
- Support metadata and catalog initiatives including tagging and documentation.
- Contribute to data lineage and auditing practices across pipelines.
- Maintain Airflow DAGs and assist with CI/CD workflows.
- Automate reports and support self-serve analytics for teams.
- Advise internal stakeholders and drive data governance standards.
Skills You Should HODL
Requirements include 2+ years in data governance or related roles with hands-on experience in metadata management, data lineage, data catalogs, and data quality practices. Strong Python and SQL skills are required, along with familiarity with Airflow and governance tools like Datahub.
