The Opportunity

As an Audit Senior or an Assistant Manager within our IT Audit team, you will be instrumental in providing hands-on expertise. Your role will involve delivering IT risk management audits and assessments, alongside formulating practical recommendations to help our clients effectively manage their business risks. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to build and develop relationships with technical specialists across the technology and security landscape. This is a full-time position, requiring a minimum of 37.5 hours per week, with available roles in our Auckland and Wellington offices.

Day-To-Day Responsibilities

  • Assist with identifying and assessing IT risks within KPMG’s audit framework and clients’ overall business risks.
  • Deliver IT audit projects, focusing on key governance, risk, and compliance matters across diverse IT platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and others.
  • Evaluate the General IT Controls (GITCs) that support KPMG’s financial audit processes.
  • Identify automated controls within client business processes and ensure their effective operation to mitigate business risks.
  • Provide comprehensive IT assurance services.
  • Apply strategic problem-solving, data analysis, report writing, and project management skills to address complex client challenges.
  • Plan overall work requirements for engagements, including preparing budgets to achieve target recovery rates and managing projects against these budgets.

What You'll Bring To Our Team

  • 2 to 4 years of experience in IT External or Internal Audit & Assurance, or IT Risk and Compliance.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification; a professional qualification such as CISA, CISM, or CISSP is highly desirable.
  • A proven ability to develop excellent client and internal relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated capability to execute projects effectively, often under tight deadlines.
  • The ability to communicate solutions to complex issues in a clear, simple, and accessible manner.
