Job Description

We are seeking a highly-skilled and experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to join our Tax Technology and Innovation team. In this role, the Assistant Manager - Data Engineer will design, develop, and maintain Azure data platforms for internal teams and client engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Azure data services including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Lake, Data Factory, Stream Analytics, Azure Analysis Services, Azure Databricks, and MS Fabric.
  • Develop and implement ETL processes, data pipelines, and data integration solutions in PySpark clusters.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on data-related technical issues and support data infrastructure needs.
  • Design optimised data models for traditional warehouses and delta lakes.
  • Ensure data security, compliance, and best practices are maintained.
  • Optimise system performance for efficient data retrieval and updates.
  • Stay updated with emerging database technologies and trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
  • Expertise in Azure data services and tools, including Azure Databricks and MS Fabric.
  • Proficiency in PySpark with additional skills in SQL, Python, and Java.
  • Experience designing data models for traditional warehouses and delta lakes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Certifications in Azure Data Engineering or related fields are a plus.
