About the Role

KPMG is seeking a talented and experienced ServiceNow Developer with expertise in Configuration Management Database (CMDB) administration and development. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of ServiceNow CMDB architecture, development methodologies, and best practices. This role is crucial for designing, implementing, and optimizing ServiceNow modules, particularly the CMDB, to ensure accurate and efficient asset management and configuration.

You will work independently, proactively identify new development and automation opportunities, and take full ownership of the implementation, remediation, and deployment of changes on the ServiceNow platform.

What You Will Do

ServiceNow Development
  • Design, develop, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules adhering to industry standards and leveraging best practices.
  • Create and manage ServiceNow workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, and service portal configurations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design innovative solutions that meet the firm's needs.
ServiceNow Automation
  • Design and implement end-to-end automations within ServiceNow using Flow Designer, Business Rules, and custom JavaScript (including scripts, client scripts, UI policies, scheduled jobs) to streamline IT Service Management processes and reduce manual effort.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with external systems using the Integration Hub and REST/SOAP APIs, with an understanding of automated CMDB data discovery, reconciliation, and quality assessment to ensure accurate and reliable configuration data.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, translate business requirements into scalable solutions, and establish governance and best practices through documentation, version control, and code review.
CMDB Administration and Development
  • Develop, implement, and optimize the CMDB to accurately track IT assets and configuration items.
  • Design and manage data models, relationships, and processes within the CMDB.
  • Perform CMDB health assessments, including identifying orphaned or duplicate configuration items, and resolving data quality issues.
Integration and Support
  • Develop integrations with external systems for data synchronization with the CMDB (e.g., discovery tools, ITSM tools, tracking platforms).
  • Provide technical support and ongoing maintenance for the CMDB and associated ServiceNow applications.
  • Proactively monitor ServiceNow performance related to the CMDB and resolve technical issues.
Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure the CMDB and other ServiceNow modules comply with enterprise policies and industry standards.
  • Enforce CMDB governance policies and procedures to maintain data integrity, security, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and document CMDB standards and procedures.
Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with stakeholders, IT Operations teams, and Service Owners to understand requirements and deliver effective ServiceNow solutions with CMDB enhancements.
  • Provide user training, technical documentation, and best practice guidance to foster adoption and effective use of ServiceNow.

What You Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proven experience in ServiceNow development, particularly with CMDB implementation and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience in ServiceNow automation, including designing and implementing automated workflows using Flow Designer, Business Rules, and scripts.
  • In-depth knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices, especially in Configuration and Asset Management.
  • Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting (e.g., JavaScript, AngularJS) and platform APIs.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with other enterprise systems using APIs and middleware.
  • Experience with ServiceNow discovery, service mapping, and integration with commercial CMDB provisioning tools.
  • Hands-on experience with database concepts, including data import, transform maps, and database design.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot CMDB and ServiceNow issues.

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $74,000 to $111,000, with potential for bonuses. Compensation for the successful candidate will be determined based on their location, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
