About the Role

The Taxonomist at Korn Ferry will join the growing data and knowledge management team to bring order to complexity through effective taxonomy design, classification, and metadata strategy. You will help shape how information is organised, connected, and understood across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain taxonomies, ontologies, and metadata frameworks.
  • Classify and structure extensive data with consistency and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to integrate frameworks.
  • Contribute to building knowledge graphs and semantic data models.
  • Analyze and improve existing data structures for enhanced search and analytics.
  • Ensure alignment with business goals, user needs, and data governance.
  • Monitor taxonomy performance and iterate based on user feedback.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in taxonomy design, data classification, or information architecture.
  • Strong understanding of metadata management, ontologies, and controlled vocabularies.
  • Hands-on experience with knowledge graphs, RDF, SPARQL, or graph databases.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail with large datasets.
  • Familiarity with data governance, semantic web technologies, or machine learning-driven classification.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Degree in Information Science, Data Science, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
