Human Resource Business Partner

The HR Business Partner serves as a trusted advisor to business leaders, translating organizational priorities into people strategies that drive performance, retention, and growth. This role partners with managers at all levels to navigate complex employee relations matters, build workforce capability, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions. The HRBP acts as a consultative resource on talent management, organizational design, compensation guidance, and change management, balancing business needs with employee advocacy.
Your role in our team
- Partner with business leaders to understand and execute the organization’s talent strategy, including current and future needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
- Shape workforce strategies with business leaders to drive operational performance and organizational growth.
- Advise managers on employee relations, including performance concerns, corrective actions, workplace investigations, and conflict resolution, coaching them to address issues proactively.
- Drive talent management and performance management processes, equipping managers with tools to develop, retain, and engage their teams.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, proactively identifying risk areas and recommending policy updates.
- Assess training, coaching, and development needs across departments and recommend solutions for skill gaps.
- Contribute to workforce planning, organizational design, and succession planning to ensure the business has the talent pipeline for current and future needs.
- Support organizational change initiatives by managing stakeholder engagement and guiding leaders through transitions, partnering on communication strategies.
- Leverage HR analytics and workforce data to inform business decisions, presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Interpret and operationalize company policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application and providing guidance to managers on implementation.
- Coordinate across HR Centers of Excellence (Payroll, Employee Services, Recruiting) to deliver cohesive, business-aligned HR solutions.
- Lead and contribute to cross-functional HR projects and initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Build learning and development programs and initiatives for internal employee development at all levels.
- Support the recruitment process, including interviewing and ensuring the hiring of qualified candidates, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Your profile
- Proficient with HRIS platforms and HR data-reporting tools (SuccessFactors or Workday experience required).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and translate insights into actionable recommendations.
- Strong working knowledge of federal contractor compliance requirements.
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Working knowledge of multi-state employment laws and regulatory requirements, with the ability to apply compliance standards across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.
- Self-starter with strong initiative, able to proactively identify needs and drive actions to completion.
- Demonstrates ownership, accountability, and a solutions-focused mindset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present HR information to diverse audiences.
- Strong consultative and coaching skills, with the ability to influence leaders and guide managers through complex people decisions.
- Highly collaborative style with strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to build trusted advisory relationships with managers and employees at all levels.
- Skilled in conflict resolution and mediation, with the ability to navigate sensitive workplace situations objectively.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25% for business meetings, site visits, and HR program delivery.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish (Highly preferred).
Education and Experience Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience as a business partner.
- At least 2 years of experience in employee relations.
- At least 3 years of experience in Employee Engagement and recruitment.
- 2 years experience working in a shared services or center of excellence HR model.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or relevant HR certification (Preferred).
- Experience in a manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain environment (Preferred).
Physical Demands Summary
This role is primarily performed in an office environment and requires frequent sitting, walking, and repetitive finger and wrist movements consistent with regular computer use. Occasional standing, light lifting up to 10 lbs, climbing stairs, bending, and reaching may also be necessary.
