About

We’re a corporate venture studio spinning out an AI-powered canine health companion app, helping pet parents extend healthy lifespan through behavior protocols, nutrition tracking, smart reminders and seamless access to cost-effective care services.

The Role

The Technical Co-Founder – Pet Health AI will serve as CTO on an agile startup team. You will work closely with the CEO and a nearshore engineering team to lead full stack development for our mobile app, AI engine, and help scale the current MVP.

Huge bonus points for being a pet-parent, having a history of canine ownership or experience in the pet services industry.

Note: The position is in-person / hybrid in the San Francisco Bay Area or Austin, Texas.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the product architecture end-to-end (Web, Mobile App, APIs, data/ML, infra) and make smart build/partner/buy calls.
  • Scale the current MVP including onboarding, health score, risk insights, AI nudges, and progress tracking.
  • Stand up AI/ML pipelines for scoring, personalization, and recommendations with feedback loops.
  • Integrate third-party services (LLMs, EMR/tele-vet, payments, auth) with privacy-first design.
  • Instrument analytics to drive activation, retention, and outcomes.
  • Build a high-leverage foundation including CI/CD, testing, observability, security, and PHI/PII handling.
  • Recruit and lead a small, senior-leaning team and select world-class vendors.
  • Partner on strategy including roadmap, milestones, fundraising, and GTM; present to investors and advisors.

What You’ll Bring

  • Pet parent with a history of canine ownership is a huge plus.
  • 5+ years building and scaling consumer/mobile or AI native products; 0→1 ownership is a huge advantage.
  • Full stack development experience across web and mobile.
  • Practical experience with LLM applications, data pipelines, and experiment frameworks.
  • Strong product sense with a taste for clean architecture and fast iteration.
  • Excellent communication skills to inspire talent and simplify complexity for non-technical partners.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the pet care or health-tech industry.
  • Experience building recommender systems, personalization, or reinforcement learning for user habits.
  • Experience designing closed-loop outcomes (engagement → behavior change → measurable health results).

Compensation

Base Pay + Co-Founder Equity in a funded, high growth startup with massive TAM.
