About KNWN Local
KNWN Local runs YouTube channels, email newsletters, and social content for over 100 real estate professionals, offering a full-service, done-for-you approach. Our clients generate $10M to $1B+ in annual sales, with many considering their YouTube channel their best marketing investment. Last month alone, 30 clients reported over 373 leads and $85M-$100M+ in attributable sales. We operate using a pod system, where each pod consists of a strategist, junior strategist, YouTube manager, and supporting creative teams, managing 15+ clients. We are expanding from 100 to 1,000 clients and need a strategist to lead client relationships, manage a team, and deliver results independently.
Role Overview
As a YouTube Strategist, you will build local media brands that drive millions in sales for real estate professionals, focusing on establishing trust and authority rather than just lead generation. You will be the crucial link between client objectives and content that yields tangible results, owning the strategy, packaging, client relationship, and overall outcome. This is a strategic role, not a task-oriented one. You will act as a strategic partner to 15+ real estate professionals, leveraging your expertise in YouTube strategy, client communication, leading creative teams, and client retention. Your goal is to make each client the recognized authority in their market, ensuring long-term success and client loyalty.
Each pod has one strategist who leads a Junior Strategist and coordinates with a YouTube Manager and creative teams (editing, writing, design). If you are excited about building 15+ locally famous real estate brands, we encourage you to apply.
Responsibilities
Strategy & Client Activation
- Conduct 15+ strategy calls monthly, coming prepared with data-driven ideas and recommendations.
- Architect content strategies with clear pillars tailored to each client's market, audience, and business goals.
- Achieve the first measurable win (views, leads, inbound calls, appointments) within 30 days, diagnosing and fixing issues if not achieved within 60-90 days.
- Track client health using our Green Flag system (Green/Yellow/Red) and proactively identify potential issues.
- Intervene immediately when engagement dips or a client becomes unresponsive, without waiting for prompts.
Content & Briefs
- Prepare comprehensive briefs for each video, including title, thumbnail concept, logline, and outline.
- Present ideas to clients, capture feedback, document requests, and provide clear direction to designers.
- Maintain a rolling pipeline of approved topics to ensure continuous production.
Production & Quality
- Conduct final reviews of scripts and thumbnails before content release.
- Ensure 4 videos per client are shipped monthly, ahead of deadlines.
- Perform retention reviews on published videos to identify successes and areas for improvement.
Client Health & Reporting
- Prepare and lead monthly strategy calls for in-depth reviews and planning for the next 30+ days.
- Track and report on retention signals, flagging at-risk clients before they consider leaving.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Ensure writing, design, editing, and email efforts are aligned with client strategies.
- Coach and develop your Junior Strategist, fostering their growth into an independent strategist.
- Collaborate with your YouTube Manager, who oversees production coordination within the pod, based on your strategic direction.
- Communicate proactively with the team when any task is at risk of delay.
Requirements
- Deep understanding of YouTube: strategy, scripting, thumbnails, retention editing, and how the algorithm favors local/niche content.
- Strong client communication skills: ability to lead calls, handle pushback, and maintain client buy-in during longer result cycles.
- Proven ability to lead a small team and coordinate cross-departmentally, even without direct reports (beyond the Junior Strategist).
- Data-driven approach: analyze numbers before forming opinions.
- Capability to activate clients quickly and sustain momentum over 12-24 month engagements.

Location
Remote (Work from anywhere in the US)
Compensation
$72,000 to $108,000 base salary, plus performance bonuses tied to client retention and results.
