Expert Software Developer - ASSETS (Child Support)
Knowledge Builders Inc. is seeking an experienced Expert Software Developer to join the ASSETS (Child Support) project. This role is critical for the development, execution, and maintenance of software tests, ensuring the quality and reliability of our Child Support application before release.
Day-to-day Tasks
In this role, you will perform comprehensive software testing on new, enhanced, and fixed Child Support application features. Your primary focus will be to ensure that updated software packages meet quality standards before they are released to users.
Responsibilities Include
- Writing detailed test plans.
- Designing and developing manual and automated test scripts based on thorough analysis of software specifications.
- Executing manual and automated tests for new application functions, defects, and for comprehensive application regression testing.
- Maintaining existing test cases and ensuring the successful migration of manual tests into the automated testing tool.
- Participating in business requirements gathering sessions.
- Creating necessary test data and performing performance testing tasks for the application.
- Conducting testing on application code, middleware code, templates, and database tables.
- Training and mentoring new members of the project team.
- Providing troubleshooting and end-user support, including problem resolution when necessary.

This expert level indicates the ability to provide guidance to large teams and extensive industry experience, being considered at the top of their field.

- 84+ months of experience analyzing and interpreting business requirement documents (BRDs) and use cases, participating in Joint Application Development sessions, and seeking clarification from business analysts.
- 84+ months of experience documenting and implementing application test plans, identifying test cases, writing and executing test scripts, identifying and analyzing application problems, and communicating findings to the development team.
- 84+ months of experience with HP Quality Center/Microfocus Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) for testing.
- 84+ months of experience with HP Quick Test Professional (QTP) and HP/Microfocus Unified Functional Testing (UFT) for developing and maintaining automated regression test scripts.
- 84+ months of experience planning, designing, developing, and executing test strategies based on software specifications for a web-based application within a large, complex, and diverse Human Services (Federal, State, or local government) delivery system (comprising over 100 screens and 100 cross-edits).
- 36 months of experience as a test lead, providing direction and training to other project team members.
- 48 months of experience using industry-standard tools such as SQL Navigator, SOAP UI, and Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) or HP Quality Center for identifying, documenting, tracking, and communicating problems to technical staff.
- 48 months of experience with HP LoadRunner (or Performance Center) for load and performance testing.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
