About The Role: Senior Product Designer

As a Senior Product Designer in our Core domain, you will be instrumental in shaping the end-to-end experience that empowers millions of users to successfully buy and sell on Kleinanzeigen.

You will own the design process across the entire product lifecycle, from initial discovery and problem framing to concept development, prototyping, delivery, and continuous iteration.

Working in close collaboration with product managers, engineers, researchers, and data specialists, you will help create intuitive, reliable, and delightful experiences. Your efforts will enable users to sell with confidence, efficiently find what they need, and interact safely within the platform.

As a member of the broader Product Design team, you will regularly exchange ideas, participate in design reviews, and contribute to fostering a strong, collaborative design culture throughout the organization.

The Core team is responsible for the most central and frequently used parts of Kleinanzeigen. Your work will directly influence how people sell and discover items, and complete transactions securely, thus enabling positive, sustainable recommerce for millions of users.

This is a hybrid role, combining the flexibility of remote work with regular presence at our Berlin-Charlottenburg office.

What you will do

• Lead and participate in user research, uncovering insights that translate into clear hypotheses and meaningful product opportunities.
• Create and iterate on customer journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI that provide clear direction and guide the team from problem to solution.
• Utilize qualitative and quantitative data to design for genuine user needs, continuously optimizing products based on user feedback and business impact.
• Define clear, scalable, and accessible patterns to ensure a consistent user experience across the entire marketplace.
• Partner effectively with PMs, engineers, and researchers through all phases: ideation, concepting, prototyping, testing, delivery, and iteration.
• Facilitate ideation workshops, conduct user interviews, run usability tests, and synthesize insights into actionable design recommendations.
• Advocate for user-centered design, ensuring that coherence, simplicity, and safety remain core to all experiences.
• Support and contribute to a strong, collaborative, and feedback-driven design culture.

What you bring

• Several years of experience as a Product Designer, UX/UI Designer, or Interaction Designer within an agile environment.
• Strong conceptual and interaction design skills, demonstrating an ability to transform complex systems into simple, intuitive interfaces.
• A keen eye for visual design and practical experience working with, and contributing to, a design system.
• Hands-on experience with user research and usability testing, coupled with the confidence to translate findings into actionable next steps.
• Comfort in sharing work early and often, actively receiving feedback, and collaborating openly across various functions.
• Ability to effectively balance user needs, product vision, and technical constraints while maintaining a pragmatic and user-focused approach.
• Fluency in both English and German, which is essential for team collaboration and conducting user interviews.
• Flexibility to work across multiple product areas, adapting easily to evolving priorities.
