About The Team
The Cloud Engineering Team at Kinaxis leverages modern tools and best practices to automate new functions and features within cloud applications and infrastructure. Applying a software engineering perspective, they enhance consistency and reliability across diverse cloud platforms using technologies such as GitOps, Terraform, and ArgoCD for Kubernetes applications. The team is passionate about code and the transformative power of automation in simplifying complex processes.
As a Cloud Developer Intern, Platform Engineering within this team, you will gain valuable insight into how DevOps, automation, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps, infrastructure, development, and monitoring collectively drive the successful deployment of cloud infrastructure and applications.
Location & Term Details
This is a hybrid position, requiring your presence in the Ottawa, Canada office at least three days a week. It is a full-time, 8 or 12-month role, commencing in May 2026.
This position is open to both co-ops and interns. To be eligible, you must be currently enrolled in full-time education or, if a recent/upcoming graduate, your graduation date must fall within 12 months of the placement end date. Canadian Citizenship or Permanent Residency is mandatory to obtain CGRP Security Clearance, a prerequisite for this role.
The compensation for this role ranges from $25.24 to $37.02 per hour. The final offer will reflect the candidate’s skills, year of education, and experience.
What You Will Do
- Apply software engineering principles to application and operations challenges, with a focus on automation and self-healing systems.
- Build and manage stable and secure cloud automation utilizing cloud orchestration capabilities, scripting languages, and APIs to design, code, test, implement, and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Actively participate in team code reviews and design reviews.
- May undertake additional projects as requested.
What We Are Looking For
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary diploma or degree program in computer science or a related discipline.
- A self-starter with a strong curiosity for technology and a desire to learn about Cloud Engineering and DevOps.
- A collaborative team player who thrives in dynamic and evolving environments.
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Has foundational knowledge of Computer Science principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Familiarity with Cloud technologies, Container platforms, GitOps, and DevOps is considered a significant asset.
- Experience with Go, Python, Terraform, Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes is considered a valuable asset.
