Position Overview
As an Entry Level Equipment Planner at Kiewit, you will support Regional Construction & Mining operations. You are responsible for the planning, scheduling, budgeting, utilization, and reliability of a construction and mining equipment fleet. Your main focus will be to improve equipment reliability and to implement, monitor, audit, and manage preventative maintenance programs.

Kiewit Equipment Services (KES) ensures the profitability of Kiewit projects through improved equipment utilization and mechanical reliability by delivering world-class equipment and service.
Location
This role will initially be based in Burnaby or Calgary for up to one year before relocating across Canada as required.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all federal, state, and company HSE requirements
- Manage material handling and procurement
- Create and maintain tool/filter lists and documentation
- Perform inspections of equipment and parts
- Oversee logistics management and communication
- Plan, schedule, and budget equipment for both long and short term
- Prepare planning and paperwork for critical lifts
- Utilize reliability and failure analysis data
- Establish communication between all supervision levels
- Support craft maintenance technicians with parts ordering, inventory, scheduling, and quality/safety management
- Handle specialty projects as necessary
Qualifications
- Undergraduate AS/BS degree in Diesel/Automotive Technology, Heavy Equipment Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Construction Management
- 1+ year of experience with equipment and with planning, scheduling, and budgeting is preferred
- Strong work ethic, organizational, time management, and communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- Willingness to travel and relocate as required
- Knowledge of CAD modeling programs is preferred
- Ability to access various construction sites or equipment yards in diverse environments
Other Requirements
Regular and reliable attendance, productivity, effective communication, adherence to safety policies, ability to work overtime and weekends, and flexibility to work across various locations.
Compensation & Benefits
Base compensation is approximately $75,000/yr - $85,000/yr, subject to adjustment based on education, experience, skillset, and location. A comprehensive benefits package includes top-tier medical, dental, vision, wellness, retirement, life insurance, disability, and generous paid time off.
