Taxation Specialist at Keystone Recruitment
We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for an experienced Taxation Specialist to support the development of advanced financial and legal reasoning systems. This remote role involves applying real-world tax dispute and audit expertise to evaluate and improve AI-generated analysis.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing tax audits, appeals, and dispute resolution matters, and can translate complex procedural and technical tax issues into structured, high-quality written feedback.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate AI-generated analyses related to tax audits, disputes, and litigation scenarios
- Assess reasoning related to examination procedures, appeals processes, and tax court matters
- Validate interpretations of tax statutes, regulations, and administrative procedures
- Provide structured feedback on penalty assessments, reasonable cause arguments, and settlement strategies
- Evaluate responses to audit documentation requests and dispute defense strategies
- Identify compliance risks, procedural gaps, or flawed legal reasoning
- Collaborate with research teams to improve model accuracy in tax controversy workflows
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in tax controversy, audit defense, tax litigation, or regulatory dispute resolution
- Strong knowledge of tax statutes, regulations, and administrative procedures
- Experience handling audits, appeals, or formal dispute resolution processes
- Familiarity with penalty abatement, voluntary disclosure programs, and settlement negotiations
- Strong analytical writing and structured feedback skills
Preferred Qualifications
- JD, CPA, or comparable professional experience in tax specialization
- Experience representing clients before tax authorities or in tax court proceedings
- Exposure to international or cross-border tax dispute matters
- Experience reviewing complex tax memoranda or mentoring junior professionals
Engagement Details
- Independent contractor engagement
- Fully remote with flexible scheduling
- Project-based or part-time (approximately 10–20 hours per week)
- Hourly compensation: $80–$120 depending on experience and scope
- Weekly payment via secure payment platforms
Applicants must be legally authorized to perform independent contractor services in their country of residence.
