Job Description
About the Role: Tax Attorney
We are seeking experienced Tax Attorneys with CPA certification to support a high-impact Legal Intelligence initiative in collaboration with a leading AI research organization. In this role, you will apply your tax law expertise to help develop high-quality legal analysis frameworks and structured evaluation materials that will inform next-generation AI systems. You will work directly with researchers in a collaborative environment to shape how advanced models understand and reason about complex tax and regulatory issues.
This is a part-time contract engagement (10–20 hours per week) with potential to expand to full-time hours based on performance and project needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed legal rubrics and structured evaluation frameworks for tax-related content
- Provide expert analysis on complex tax law issues
- Review, assess, and refine legal reasoning outputs
- Collaborate directly with research teams in a structured communication environment
- Ensure technical accuracy, clarity, and rigor in all deliverables
- Contribute to improving AI systems’ understanding of tax regulations and compliance standards
Required Qualifications
- JD or LLM from a top-tier university
- Active CPA certification (required)
- Demonstrated expertise in tax law
- Experience writing structured rubrics or evaluation frameworks
- Strong attention to detail
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in federal, corporate, or international tax
- Experience in Big Law, tax advisory, or regulatory analysis
- Prior consulting or project-based legal work
Engagement Details
- Independent contractor role
- Fully remote with flexible scheduling
- 10–20 hours per week (potential to scale to 40 hours/week)
- Minimum project duration: 1–2 months
- Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
- No access to confidential or proprietary employer information required
