One of our clients, Mercor, is actively seeking highly skilled software professionals with extensive operating system expertise to join a critical data collection initiative. This project is in collaboration with leading AI research labs and aims to capture realistic, expert-level software workflows. Your contribution will directly enhance how AI systems comprehend intricate operating system interfaces and manage complex multi-step professional tasks, playing a vital role in developing high-fidelity datasets for training next-generation AI models.

Key Responsibilities

• Record detailed screen sessions demonstrating operating system workflows, providing clear verbal narration for each step.
• Precisely annotate screenshots by accurately drawing bounding boxes around relevant UI elements.
• Follow meticulously provided staging instructions to configure specific UI states before initiating recordings.
• Utilize custom capture tools to ensure consistent and accurate workflow recordings.
• Adhere strictly to task guidelines to uphold data quality and ensure downstream usability for AI research.
• Deliver high-quality outputs suitable for large-scale AI research and advanced model training.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Proven ability to follow precise instructions and consistently meet stringent quality standards.
• Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated capability for independent work.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Reliable access to a physical Mac and the ability to create a fresh macOS user profile when necessary.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in data collection, annotation, or quality assurance roles.
• Experience in documenting or recording technical workflows.
• Comfort working with new software tools and staged environments.

Engagement Details

• This is a fully remote, asynchronous independent contractor role.
• Offers a flexible working schedule to accommodate your availability.
• Project duration may vary and is subject to extension based on performance and ongoing project needs.
• Work involves comprehensive screen recording, UI annotation, and workflow documentation.

Compensation & Contract Terms

• Hourly compensation will be provided, aligned with the scope of tasks and your expertise.
• Payments are issued weekly via Stripe or Wise.
• Engagement is strictly as an independent contractor, offering flexibility and autonomy.
• This role does not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• Please note: H1-B and STEM OPT candidates cannot be supported at this time.

Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorized to work as independent contractors in their country of residence.
