Job Overview

Keystone Recruitment is seeking a Software Engineer Trajectory Remote who applies AI research and software engineering expertise to improve model reasoning through code annotation and documentation.

Project Details

This is an hourly independent contractor role with a commitment of 15-25 hours per week (flexible up to 40) for a duration of 1-2 months with extension opportunities. The project involves working with leading AI labs and genuine software engineering scenarios from open-source repositories.

Responsibilities

  • Review AI-generated code trajectories on SWE-bench style tasks.
  • Reconstruct step-by-step reasoning and explain solution approaches.
  • Annotate decision points, debugging strategies, and technical choices.
  • Utilize full codebase context including issues, tests, and PRs.
  • Ensure annotations reflect authentic software engineering practices.

Technical Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or similar languages.
  • Experience debugging complex codebases and resolving issues.
  • Familiarity with Git workflows, pull requests, and issue tracking.
  • Ability to articulate technical reasoning clearly in writing.

Project Structure

Ideal Candidate

Candidates should have a Computer Science or Software Engineering degree with experience in open-source contributions, repository analysis, and understanding software lifecycles. Detailed technical documentation and specifications familiarity is required.
