About the Software Engineer Trajectory Generation Role at Keystone Recruitment
Join leading AI labs as a Software Engineer specializing in Trajectory Generation, applying your expertise to improve model reasoning. In this global remote role, you will review real-world coding tasks and meticulously document problem-solving processes to support the development of advanced AI coding capabilities.
Project Overview
This project focuses on structured dataset creation to enhance AI coding. You will work with authentic software engineering scenarios derived from open-source repositories, capturing realistic developer thought processes to inform and refine AI models.
Key Responsibilities
- Review AI-generated code trajectories on SWE-bench style tasks.
- Reconstruct step-by-step reasoning, clearly explaining solution approaches.
- Annotate decision points, debugging strategies, and technical choices.
- Utilize full codebase context, including issues, tests, and pull requests, for accurate documentation.
- Ensure all annotations reflect authentic software engineering best practices.
Technical Requirements
- 2+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or similar.
- Demonstrated experience debugging complex codebases and effectively resolving issues.
- Familiarity with Git workflows, including pull requests and issue tracking.
- Excellent ability to articulate technical reasoning clearly and concisely in written form.
Project Structure & Logistics
This is an hourly independent contractor position, offering 15-25 flexible hours per week, with the potential to extend up to 40 hours. The project duration is 1-2 months with opportunities for extension. Immediate onboarding is available, following a resume review and a 15-minute AI technical interview. Work is self-scheduled within weekly commitment minimums, and payment is processed weekly via Stripe/Wise.
Ideal Candidate Background
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience contributing to open-source projects or conducting repository analysis.
- Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and various testing methodologies.
- Comfort working with technical documentation and specifications.
