Role Overview: Software Engineer
Keystone Recruitment is seeking a talented Software Engineer for a fully remote, freelance role based in Australia. This position offers flexible hours and a competitive compensation of up to $50 USD/hr. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring code quality, evaluating AI outputs, and setting high engineering standards across various programming languages.
Key Responsibilities
- Code Quality Assessment: Review AI-generated full stack code for production readiness, evaluating maintainability, scalability, and real-world engineering standards. You will rank solutions across multiple programming languages including JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, and C++.
- Technical Training Content: Create and answer questions on software engineering best practices, document debugging strategies and version control workflows, and provide expert feedback on collaborative coding practices.
- AI Model Improvement: Analyze code quality across full stack development scenarios, evaluate Git workflows, branching, and merging strategies, and generate training data for advanced coding AI capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional full stack development experience.
- Proficiency in 2+ languages from: JavaScript, Python, Go, Java, TypeScript, C++.
- Proven experience building and shipping production software.
- Strong knowledge of Git, including branching, merging, and collaboration workflows.
- Excellent technical communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in backend engineering and server-side scaling.
- Test-Driven Development (TDD) experience with frameworks like PyTest, JUnit, or Mocha.
- Ability to author technical specifications and API contracts.
- Proficiency in code review, complex debugging, and large codebase analysis.
- Experience as a startup founder or early employee.
