Role Overview
The Software Engineer – Development & Programming role is for experienced professionals supporting a high-priority data collection initiative in collaboration with leading AI research labs. You will record real-world development workflows, annotate screenshots, and document technical processes to help train and evaluate next-generation AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Record screen sessions demonstrating development and programming workflows with clear narration.
- Annotate screenshots by drawing precise bounding boxes around relevant UI elements.
- Follow staging instructions to configure specific UI states before recording.
- Utilize custom capture tools to record workflows accurately and consistently.
- Adhere to guidelines ensuring data quality, consistency, and usability.
Qualifications
Applicants must have strong hands-on experience with professional development tools such as Visual Studio Code, Android Studio, Quartus, and VMware. High attention to detail, ability to follow technical instructions, independent work style, fluent English communication, and access to a physical Mac with ability to create a fresh macOS user profile are required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data collection, annotation, or QA work
- Background in recording or documenting development workflows
- Comfortable with new tools and staged environments
Engagement Details
This is a fully remote, asynchronous independent contractor role with a flexible working schedule. The duration of the project may vary based on performance and project needs. Compensation is hourly, paid weekly via Stripe or Wise, and note that this role is strictly for independent contractors.
