Our client is collaborating with a leading AI research team on a significant supervised fine-tuning (SFT) project. This initiative aims to enhance the responsiveness of advanced language models to real-world inquiries. We are seeking talented writers and critical thinkers to join as independent contractors, offering a flexible, project-based engagement.

Role Overview

This opportunity is perfectly suited for individuals possessing exceptional reasoning and communication skills, who are keen to contribute to applied AI research while maintaining complete control over their work schedule. As a Research Assistant, you will play a crucial role in improving AI language models.

Key Responsibilities

• Create realistic prompts that mirror how people naturally ask questions across a wide range of general topics.
• Review and meticulously edit AI-generated responses to ensure clarity, accuracy, and overall usefulness.
• Author high-quality human responses for selected prompts, setting a benchmark for AI performance.
• Generate subtle variations of prompts to rigorously test nuanced differences in model behavior and understanding.
• Evaluate AI responses across various lengths, tones, and instructional styles for consistency and effectiveness.
• Proactively identify ambiguities, inherent weaknesses, or outright failure cases within the AI's model outputs.

Ideal Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate from any academic background.
• Demonstrated strong written communication skills and sharp critical thinking abilities.
• Proven capacity to synthesize complex information clearly and accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail and comfort in comparing similar written responses for subtle differences.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage time efficiently in a fully remote work environment.

Engagement Details

• Fully remote and asynchronous work arrangement, allowing you to set your own schedule.
• Expected commitment ranges from approximately 10 to 40 hours per week, offering flexibility.
• This is a project-based engagement, with potential for extension depending on ongoing project needs.
• Work will be performed on an independent contractor basis, providing autonomy.

Compensation & Contract Terms

Compensation is competitive, ranging from $35 to $45 per hour, based on your experience and demonstrated performance. This is an independent contractor classification.
