Research Assistant

Role Overview

Keystone Recruitment's client is collaborating with a leading AI research team on a significant supervised fine-tuning (SFT) project. This initiative aims to enhance how advanced language models effectively respond to real-world questions. We are looking for talented writers and critical thinkers to join as independent contractors, offering a flexible, project-based engagement. This opportunity is perfect for individuals who possess excellent reasoning and communication skills, a keen interest in applied AI research, and a desire to control their work schedule as a Research Assistant.

Key Responsibilities

• Create realistic prompts that accurately reflect how individuals naturally ask questions across a wide range of general topics.
• Review and meticulously edit AI-generated responses to ensure optimal clarity, accuracy, and overall usefulness.
• Author high-quality human responses for a selection of specific prompts.
• Generate subtle variations of prompts to thoroughly test nuanced differences in model behavior and performance.
• Evaluate AI responses across various lengths, tones, and instructional styles for consistency and effectiveness.
• Identify ambiguities, inherent weaknesses, or potential failure cases within the outputs generated by the AI model.

Ideal Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate from a relevant program.
• Demonstrated strong written communication abilities and critical thinking skills.
• Proven capacity to synthesize complex information clearly and accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail and comfortable with precise comparisons of similar written responses.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage time effectively in a fully remote work environment.

Engagement Details

• Fully remote and asynchronous work arrangement, allowing you to set your own schedule.
• Expected weekly commitment ranges from approximately 10 to 40 hours.
• Project-based engagement with strong potential for extension based on ongoing project requirements.
• Work is performed on an independent contractor basis, offering significant flexibility.

Compensation & Contract Terms

Competitive compensation of USD $35–$45 per hour, with rates determined by experience and demonstrated performance. This role is classified as an independent contractor position.
