Role: Research Assistant

Keystone Recruitment is partnering with a leading AI research team on a large-scale supervised fine-tuning (SFT) initiative focused on enhancing how advanced language models respond to real-world questions.

We are actively seeking strong writers and critical thinkers to join as independent contractors. This is a flexible, project-based opportunity, ideal for individuals with excellent reasoning and communication skills who wish to contribute to applied AI research while managing their own schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Create realistic prompts that mirror natural human questioning across general topics.
• Review and meticulously edit AI-generated responses for clarity, accuracy, and overall usefulness.
• Write high-quality, human-authored responses for selected prompts.
• Generate subtle variations of prompts to thoroughly test nuanced differences in model behavior.
• Evaluate AI responses across various lengths, tones, and instructional styles.
• Identify ambiguities, inherent weaknesses, or potential failure cases within model outputs.

Ideal Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate from any academic background.
• Demonstrated strong written communication and critical thinking skills.
• Proven ability to synthesize complex information clearly and accurately.
• Exceptional attention to detail and comfort in comparing similar written responses.
• Capacity to work independently and manage time effectively in a fully remote environment.

Engagement Details

• Fully remote and asynchronous work, allowing you to set your own schedule.
• Expected commitment: approximately 10–40 hours per week.
• Project-based engagement with a strong potential for extension based on ongoing project needs.
• Work is performed on an independent contractor basis.

Compensation & Contract Terms

This role offers competitive compensation between $35–$45 per hour, based on your experience and performance. The position is classified as an independent contractor.
