Role Overview: Research Assistant

Keystone Recruitment's client is actively collaborating with a prominent AI research team on an extensive supervised fine-tuning (SFT) initiative. This project aims to significantly enhance the effectiveness of advanced language models in responding to complex, real-world inquiries.

We are seeking highly skilled writers and critical thinkers to join as independent contractors. This flexible, project-based opportunity is perfect for individuals who possess exceptional reasoning and communication abilities, are keen to contribute to applied AI research, and desire control over their work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Create realistic prompts that accurately reflect how individuals naturally pose questions across a diverse range of general topics.
• Review and meticulously edit AI-generated responses to ensure optimal clarity, accuracy, and overall usefulness.
• Author high-quality, human-crafted responses for designated prompts.
• Generate subtle variations of prompts to thoroughly test and analyze nuanced differences in model behavior.
• Rigorously evaluate responses across varying lengths, tones, and instructional styles to assess model performance comprehensively.
• Proactively identify ambiguities, inherent weaknesses, or potential failure cases within model outputs.

Ideal Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate from a relevant field.
• Demonstrated strong written communication and exceptional critical thinking skills.
• Proven ability to synthesize complex information clearly and accurately.
• High attention to detail and comfort in comparing and evaluating similar written responses.
• Capacity to work independently and manage time effectively within a remote work environment.

Engagement Details

• This is a fully remote and asynchronous role, offering complete flexibility to work on your own schedule.
• Expected commitment ranges approximately from 10 to 40 hours per week.
• Engagement is project-based with the strong potential for extension, contingent upon ongoing project needs and performance.
• Work will be performed strictly on an independent contractor basis.

Compensation & Contract Terms

Compensation is set at $35–$45 per hour, with the specific rate determined by experience and performance. This role is classified as an independent contractor position.
