Research Assistant at Keystone Recruitment

Our client, a leading AI research team, is looking for a Research Assistant to contribute to a large-scale supervised fine-tuning (SFT) initiative. This project aims to enhance how advanced language models effectively respond to real-world questions. This is a 100% remote, project-based independent contractor opportunity, ideal for individuals with strong writing, critical thinking, and communication skills who desire a flexible schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create realistic prompts that mirror natural human questions across various general topics.
  • Review and meticulously edit AI-generated responses for clarity, accuracy, and overall usefulness.
  • Author high-quality human responses to a selection of prompts.
  • Generate subtle variations of prompts to meticulously test nuanced differences in model behavior.
  • Evaluate AI responses, considering varying lengths, tones, and instructional styles.
  • Identify ambiguities, inherent weaknesses, or potential failure cases within model outputs.

Ideal Qualifications

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student, or a recent graduate.
  • Demonstrated strong written communication and critical thinking abilities.
  • Capacity to synthesize complex information clearly and accurately.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and comfort in comparing similar written responses.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.

Engagement Details

  • Fully remote and asynchronous work arrangement, allowing you to set your own schedule.
  • Expected commitment of approximately 10–40 hours per week.
  • Project-based engagement with the potential for extension based on ongoing project requirements.

Compensation & Contract Terms

Compensation ranges from $35–$45 per hour, based on experience and performance, under an independent contractor classification.
