Role Overview: Research Analyst
Keystone Recruitment is seeking a Research Analyst to support advanced mathematics research for one of our AI research clients. In this remote, hourly contract role, you will be instrumental in large language model training and evaluation initiatives. Your primary responsibility will involve analyzing complex mathematical and logical problems, rigorously validating reasoning, and developing clear, structured explanations to enhance AI model performance.
You will collaborate closely with advanced AI systems to pinpoint reasoning gaps, refine problem structures, and produce high-quality analytical content that significantly bolsters model accuracy and logical consistency.
What You’ll Do
- Break down complex mathematical problems into clear, logical, step-by-step solutions.
- Validate claims and reasoning through structured analysis and comprehensive research.
- Design analytical scenarios specifically to test the limitations and boundaries of AI models.
- Evaluate AI model responses thoroughly and provide precise, corrected explanations.
- Create structured, detailed solutions for a wide range of mathematical areas, including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, and logic-based puzzles.
- Summarize extensive blocks of information into more concise, logically organized components.

Requirements
- Strong proficiency in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus (equivalent to high school to early college level or higher).
- Excellent English reading and writing skills, crucial for clear communication.
- Ability to articulate complex concepts into well-structured, easy-to-understand steps.
- Demonstrated strong analytical and superior problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable and effective working independently in a fully remote environment.
- Ability to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week, with required daily overlap with Pacific Standard Time (PST).
- Reliable desktop/laptop computer and a stable, high-speed internet connection are essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a closely related quantitative field (exceptional mathematical ability without a formal degree will also be given strong consideration).
- Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or creating educational mathematics content.
- Familiarity with engineering entrance exam or college-level mathematics standards.
- Experience utilizing tools such as LaTeX or Google Colab for mathematical content creation or analysis.
Engagement Details
- This is an independent contractor assignment, meaning no medical benefits or paid leave.
- The position is fully remote.
- Initial contract duration is 1 month, with strong potential for extension based on performance and project needs.
- Flexible time commitment options are available: 20, 30, or 40 hours per week.
- Requires 2–5 hours daily overlap with the America/Los_Angeles (UTC-8) time zone.
