Job Description
Public Policy Specialist
One of our clients is engaging experienced public policy professionals on a project basis to support advanced AI research initiatives. In this role, you will help design, evaluate, and refine policy-related content that improves how AI systems understand governance, regulation, and real-world decision-making.
What You’ll Do
- Create realistic public policy tasks covering domestic and international governance, regulatory frameworks, and social or economic impact analysis
- Review AI-generated responses for clarity, accuracy, feasibility, and policy relevance
- Draft high-quality reference materials such as policy memos, stakeholder summaries, and analytical briefs
- Identify gaps in logic, ethics, or real-world applicability and document areas for improvement
- Collaborate asynchronously with other subject-matter experts through structured written feedback
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree in public policy, law, economics, political science, or a closely related field
- At least 3 years of professional experience in policy research, government, public affairs, consulting, or a think-tank environment
- Strong understanding of legislative processes, regulatory analysis, and public-sector decision-making
- Excellent analytical reasoning, synthesis, and writing skills
- Ability to assess policy arguments across diverse domains and geopolitical contexts
Work Details
- Independent contractor engagement
- Fully remote
- Expected availability: 10+ hours per week
- Flexible schedule
- Project-based assignments with defined deliverables and quality benchmarks
Compensation
$30 to $80 USD per hour, depending on scope and complexity of work. Paid weekly via Stripe or Wise.
Hiring Process
The selection process may include a short skills questionnaire and, where appropriate, a paid trial task to assess role-related capabilities. Automated tools may be used as part of the evaluation process in accordance with applicable data-protection and privacy laws.
