Operating Systems Expert

Role Overview

Keystone Recruitment's client is actively seeking experienced software professionals with deep operating system expertise to bolster a high-priority data collection initiative. This collaboration with leading AI research labs aims to capture realistic, expert-level software workflows, thereby enhancing AI systems' comprehension of complex operating system interfaces and multi-step professional tasks. As an Operating Systems Expert, you will directly contribute to the development of high-fidelity datasets crucial for training next-generation AI models.

Key Responsibilities

• Record screen sessions meticulously, demonstrating operating system workflows with clear verbal narration for each step.
• Annotate screenshots by accurately drawing bounding boxes around relevant UI elements.
• Follow provided staging instructions precisely to configure specific UI states before recording.
• Utilize custom capture tools to record workflows consistently and accurately.
• Adhere strictly to task guidelines to ensure optimal data quality and downstream usability.
• Deliver high-quality outputs suitable for large-scale AI research and model training.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with one or more operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
• Proven ability to follow precise instructions and consistently meet quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and capability for independent work.
• Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).
• Access to a physical Mac and the ability to create a fresh macOS user profile if required.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data collection, annotation, or quality assurance work.
• Experience in documenting or recording technical workflows.
• Comfort working with new tools and staged environments.

Engagement Details

• This is a fully remote, asynchronous independent contractor role.
• Enjoy a flexible working schedule.
• Project duration may vary and can be extended based on performance and project needs.
• Work involves screen recording, UI annotation, and workflow documentation.

Compensation & Contract Terms

• Hourly compensation will be aligned with task scope and expertise.
• Payments are issued weekly via Stripe or Wise.
• Engagement is strictly as an independent contractor.
• No access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution.
• H1-B and STEM OPT candidates cannot be supported at this time.

Eligibility

Applicants must be legally authorized to work as independent contractors in their country of residence.
