Role Overview
One of our clients is seeking experienced journalism professionals to contribute to a research initiative in collaboration with a leading AI lab. This project focuses on improving AI systems’ ability to generate, evaluate, and fact-check content in alignment with professional journalistic standards.
As a Journalism Specialist, you will apply your editorial expertise to help train and assess advanced language models across a variety of media formats.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate and edit AI-generated news articles and media content for accuracy, tone, clarity, and adherence to journalistic standards
- Design and validate journalism-focused prompts, scenarios, and evaluation rubrics
- Fact-check written content using established editorial methodologies
- Provide structured, actionable feedback on content quality and credibility
- Collaborate asynchronously with researchers to simulate real-world editorial workflows
Ideal Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a newsroom, media organization, or freelance journalism
- Strong editorial judgment with a sharp focus on factual accuracy
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
- Familiarity with multiple journalistic formats (e.g., investigative reporting, opinion pieces, breaking news)
- Degree in journalism, communications, or a related field preferred
Opportunity Details
- Fully remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule
- Expected commitment: 10+ hours per week
- Deliverables-driven structure with clear quality standards
Compensation & Contract Terms
- $35–$80 per hour, based on experience and expertise
- Independent contractor classification
