Job Description

Graduate Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Graduate Teaching Assistant - Postsecondary to support university-level instructors and students in a fully virtual environment. This remote role is central to fostering academic success by assisting with course delivery, facilitating discussions, and providing timely feedback, all while contributing to an inclusive and engaging online learning experience.

This is an hourly contract (independent contractor) position with a rate of USD 49-98/hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist instructors in preparing and delivering course materials, assignments, and learning resources.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on student work and participation.
  • Facilitate engaging online discussions and respond to student inquiries.
  • Support students academically by clarifying course content, expectations, and processes.
  • Maintain clear and professional communication with students and faculty via written and verbal channels.
  • Assist in grading assignments, tracking student progress, and preparing reports for instructors.
  • Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and accessible virtual classroom culture.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with online learning platforms and digital collaboration tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in postsecondary education, tutoring, or academic support roles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and dedication to supporting diverse learners.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant in higher education.
  • Background in educational technology, instructional design, or curriculum support.
