Job Description
GIS Specialist
We are seeking a skilled Cartographer and Photogrammetrist to contribute expertise in geospatial analysis and mapping technologies to support advanced AI model training. In this fully remote role, you will apply your knowledge of GIS, remote sensing, and spatial data interpretation to help improve the accuracy, reliability, and performance of next-generation geospatial AI systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile, analyze, and interpret spatial data from diverse sources including aerial imagery, satellite data, and geodetic surveys.
- Prepare detailed maps, charts, tables, and 3D terrain models.
- Delineate geographic features using stereoplotting and computer graphics tools.
- Interpret legal land records to verify property boundaries.
- Design and evaluate GIS-related algorithms, data structures, and interfaces.
- Perform spatial data validation and quality assurance.
- Annotate and structure geospatial datasets for machine learning applications.
- Collaborate with AI and engineering teams to improve geospatial model performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Cartography, Photogrammetry, Geomatics, Geography, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with GIS, remote sensing, and photogrammetric software.
- Proficiency in spatial data analysis and map preparation.
- Experience with satellite imagery interpretation and geodetic surveys.
- Familiarity with algorithm development and mapping system design.
- Knowledge of Python or other relevant programming languages.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to spatial accuracy.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree or professional certifications in GIS or photogrammetry.
- Experience collaborating with AI or machine learning teams.
- Background in property boundary analysis and legal land documentation.
- Familiarity with computer graphics and geospatial visualization technologies.
