Job Summary
The GIS Specialist at Keystone Recruitment is a remote, hourly contract role for a skilled Cartographer and Photogrammetrist. You will contribute your expertise in geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and mapping technologies to support advanced AI model training. This role is ideal for professionals passionate about precision mapping and the intersection of geospatial science and artificial intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
- Compile, analyze, and interpret spatial data from diverse sources.
- Prepare and refine detailed maps, charts, tables, and 3D terrain models.
- Delineate geographic features using stereoplotting and graphics tools.
- Interpret legal land records for establishing property boundaries.
- Design and evaluate GIS algorithms, data structures, and interfaces.
- Perform spatial data validation and quality assurance.
- Annotate geospatial datasets for machine learning applications.
- Collaborate with AI and engineering teams to improve model performance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Cartography, Photogrammetry, Geomatics, Geography, or related field is required. Candidates must have strong hands-on experience with GIS, remote sensing, and photogrammetric software. Proficiency in spatial data analysis, map preparation, and interpreting satellite imagery is essential. A working knowledge of Python or similar programming languages and excellent communication skills are required.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree or professional certifications in GIS or photogrammetry, experience collaborating with AI or machine learning teams, and familiarity with computer graphics tools and geospatial visualization technologies.
