This pivotal role involves supporting the development of advanced clinical decision-support systems, with a focus on acute care diagnostics, triage, and high-acuity treatment pathways. This unique opportunity bridges frontline emergency practice with cutting-edge applied AI to foster safe, rapid, and accurate clinical reasoning.

About the Role

As an Emergency Medicine Physician, you will leverage your real-world emergency department expertise to review, annotate, and validate acute care datasets. Your expert clinical judgment will directly influence the refinement of AI systems specifically designed to enhance triage processes, improve differential diagnosis capabilities, optimize stabilization protocols, and inform disposition planning. This position is fully remote, with flexible scheduling, though a San Francisco presence is preferred for select collaborative engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and label emergency department notes, triage documentation, imaging summaries, and comprehensive case records.
• Validate differential diagnoses, stabilization plans, and disposition decisions to ensure clinical accuracy.
• Audit datasets thoroughly for clinical accuracy and strict alignment with established guidelines such as ACEP, ACLS, and ATLS.
• Review AI-generated summaries and treatment recommendations critically for safety, clinical soundness, and efficacy.
• Define clear and precise annotation standards for high-acuity and time-sensitive medical conditions.
• Advise on complex patient presentations, including critical cases like trauma, sepsis, stroke, and cardiac arrest.

Ideal Qualifications

• MD or DO degree, with board certification or board eligibility in Emergency Medicine.
• Possession of an active U.S. medical license is required.
• A strong background with 5+ years of experience in high-acuity emergency department settings is preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in rapid decision-making and adherence to critical care protocols.
• An interest in medical AI, informatics, or clinical data validation is a distinct advantage.

• This is an independent contractor engagement offering flexibility.
• The role is fully remote with flexible scheduling; San Francisco presence is preferred for occasional in-person collaboration.
