Keystone Recruitment is assisting a client in inviting experienced Founders and Early Operators to engage in a unique research opportunity. The client is focused on documenting and reviewing sophisticated data systems that have been built or managed within mid-size startups (20–150 people).
The Opportunity: Chief Operating Officer (Contract Engagement)
We are seeking highly experienced individuals with firsthand knowledge in constructing, overseeing, or scaling internal data and reporting systems within dynamic startup environments. This engagement is a crucial short-term research effort centered on documenting architectural decisions and evaluating how operational data effectively supports critical business decision-making processes.

- Experienced Founders: You possess a proven track record of building or managing complex internal systems in high-growth settings.
- Startup Veterans: Essential prior experience in a high-growth startup environment, specifically within companies ranging from 20 to 150 employees.
- Domain Agnostic Expertise: We prioritize your ability to navigate architectural complexity over specific industry experience.
- Availability: You are able to commit to a focused, short-term, and clearly defined research engagement.
Engagement Specifics
This role is structured as an independent contractor position, offering a fully remote and flexible schedule. Projects may be adjusted in duration based on evolving needs and performance. The scope specifically involves retrospective documentation and a technical review of previously implemented systems. All details regarding technical specifications and compensation will be shared following an initial screening.

- We are exclusively seeking CEOs, Founders, and Ex-Founders for this engagement.
- This is a contract position; you will be engaged as an independent contractor.
- The role is 100% remote and can be completed on your schedule.
