Keystone Recruitment is seeking a talented and dedicated Audio Specialist to join our team as a flexible hourly contractor. This global remote role involves creating professional audio tracks and thoroughly documenting complete production workflows, showcasing your full mixing process from initial layering through final mastering.
Role Overview
As an Audio Specialist, you will be responsible for building comprehensive audio projects using industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). Your work will span the entire audio production lifecycle, from initial sound layering to final mix and mastering delivery. Beyond technical execution, you will also articulate your creative decisions, experimentation techniques, and problem-solving approaches through clear written and verbal explanations of your processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Multi-Track Audio Production: Build complete audio projects using industry-standard DAWs from initial sound layering through final mix and mastering delivery.
- Workflow Documentation: Articulate creative decisions, experimentation techniques, and problem-solving through clear written and verbal process explanations.
- Sound Layering & Refinement: Layer multiple audio elements, apply dynamic processing, EQ, compression, and effects for professional-grade results.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure final mixes meet industry standards for clarity, balance, dynamics, and artistic integrity across playback systems.
- Asset Organization: Organize, label, and export audio stems, sessions, and final masters for seamless team handoff and archiving.
Required Skills
- Professional audio production and mixing experience
- Proficiency with DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic, Reaper, Ableton, similar)
- Strong understanding of audio processing (EQ, compression, reverb, automation)
- Complete project workflow experience (tracking through mastering)
- Excellent written communication explaining production choices
- Multi-genre production capability (music, podcasts, sound design)
